Connecting Communities and Inspiring Active Outdoor Lives
We incorporated as a 501©3 non-profit organization in 2024.

“At Pelham Pathways, we believe that connecting with nature and each other
builds stronger, healthier communities. Our mission is to create sustainable
spaces where people of all ages and abilities can thrive, stay active, and find joy outdoors.”
— Yvonne La-Garde, Chairperson

Community Trail Coalition: The Community Trail Coalition engages residents and visitors with Pelham’s trail network, promoting safe, inclusive, and welcoming outdoor experiences for people of all ages and abilities. Through guided hikes, educational programs, and trail stewardship, volunteers foster a deep appreciation for nature and conservation. Their signature project—Virginia’s All Persons Trail at Merriam Farm Conservation Area—stands as a model of collaboration, demonstrating how community partnerships can build both trails and legacies.
Celebration Park Committee: A living classroom and memorial garden, the Celebration Park celebrates nature, people, and community through sustainable design and shared stewardship. Created entirely through local donations and volunteer care, the park features native and pollinator plantings, shaded gathering spaces, and accessible pathways. In partnership with Bartlett Tree Experts, the Pelham Garden Group and Pelham Parks & Recreation Department, volunteers maintain and enhance the landscape—cultivating a space that inspires
reflection, learning, and connection for all.
Pickleball Community: The Pickleball Community promotes health, friendship, and lifelong play by uniting players of all ages and abilities. Volunteers provide free lessons, host tournaments, and organize youth camps that encourage teamwork, confidence, and fun. In collaboration with the Pelham Parks & Recreation Department, to whom the courts were originally donated, volunteers help maintain and care for Pelham’s courts year-round—ensuring that everyone has a welcoming place to belong, play, and thrive.
Preserving the rural heart of Pelham — while opening the outdoors to all.
